You know that show on the History Channel? The one with this guy?
The one where they’re all convinced that all the advancements in ancient civilizations are attributable to the fact that extraterrestrials came and gave people super duper awesome tool kits so that they could build super duper awesome pyramids and monuments to our alien overlords?
I’ve got another theory. Okay, work with me here. It’s a controversial idea, I am well aware. It might grind some gears, but here goes:
What if ancient people built all those monuments themselves?
Hold it, hold it—just go with me for a minute. What if—I know, I know, it’s a weird thought, but what if ancient people were actually intelligent enough to build their own advanced civilizations? What if they weren’t stupid? What if—hang on here—what if they were actually just like us and used complex mathematics and science to manipulate their environments as they saw fit? Just like we do?
Ah, forget about it. You’re right. That’s ridiculous. Smart ancient people. Pfft! They, like, didn’t even have the Internet. But you know who did have the Internet?
